Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Locl, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
1. About Locl
Locl is an online marketplace operated by سعيد الكنيبي للتقنية والابتكار (Al Kunaibī Technology & Innovation), Trade License CN-6633576, licensed in the UAE. Locl connects buyers with local small businesses for in-person pickup. Locl is a marketplace only — we are not the seller and are not party to any transaction between buyers and sellers.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter contracts under UAE law, and not previously banned from Locl.
3. Accounts
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure
- You must provide accurate information when registering
- One account per person — multiple accounts are prohibited
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
4. Sellers
4.1 Requirements
By registering as a seller you confirm that you hold all licenses required by UAE law to sell your products (including a valid home business permit or trade license where applicable) and that your products comply with all UAE laws. Locl is not responsible for verifying seller licenses.
4.2 Listings
Listings must be accurate and not misleading. Prohibited items include alcohol, tobacco, weapons, counterfeit goods, and anything illegal under UAE law. We reserve the right to remove any listing at our discretion.
4.3 Platform fee
Locl charges a platform fee of 8% on each completed transaction, deducted automatically from the seller's payout. The platform fee is non-refundable once an order is completed.
4.4 Payouts
Sellers may request one payout per day of their available balance. Locl reserves the right to withhold payouts if there is evidence of fraud, policy violation, or unresolved disputes.
5. Buyers
5.1 Orders
Placing an order is a binding commitment to collect and pay for the item. Payment is taken at the time of order placement.
5.2 Pickup verification
You may be asked to provide a vehicle description (make, color, plate number) and a 4-digit pickup code. Do not share your pickup code until you are physically collecting the order.
6. Cancellations and refunds
- Seller cancellations: any payment taken will be refunded to the original payment method within 5–10 business days
- Buyer cancellations: contact the seller directly through platform messaging. Refunds are at the seller's discretion after an order is confirmed
- Store credits: have no cash value, cannot be transferred, and expire 12 months after issuance
7. Disputes
Disputes should first be resolved through in-platform messaging. If unresolved, contact support@locl.ae. Locl's decision on disputes is final. Locl is not liable for losses arising from disputes between users.
8. Prohibited conduct
- Posting false, misleading, or fraudulent listings
- Manipulating ratings or reviews
- Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users
- Circumventing the platform fee by transacting off-platform
- Using automated tools to scrape the platform
- Uploading malware or attempting to compromise platform security
9. Limitation of liability
Locl is not liable for the quality, safety, or legality of listed items; losses from transactions between users; platform downtime; or indirect damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the platform fees received from transactions involving you in any 12-month period.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Disputes shall be subject to the courts of Abu Dhabi, UAE.
