Meet in public when possible

For first-time orders, suggest a public, well-lit meeting point like a mall entrance or petrol station rather than a private home.

Verify before handing over

Sellers: always ask for the 4-digit pickup code before giving the order. Buyers: only share your code at the moment of pickup.

Share car details

Adding your car make, color, and plate at checkout helps the seller confirm who they are meeting.

Keep chat on Locl

Keep your conversation in the in-app chat so there is a record if anything goes wrong. Be cautious if someone pushes to move off-platform.

Never pay outside the app

All payment happens through Locl at checkout. Anyone asking for extra cash, bank transfers, or gift cards at pickup is violating our terms — report them.

Tell someone your plans

If picking up from a private address, let a friend or family member know where you are going and when.

Trust your instincts

If anything feels off — the item, the location, the person — walk away and report it. You can block any user from the chat screen.
